Most clubs have them so I was thinking of running one for our club. I rang and asked Tinky and he said he didn't have a problem with it.
What do you think ??
£1 or 50p a go, if you win off the golden peg you take all. If no one wins then it rolls over. Simple.

No guests allowed to enter it though. So any guests at the matches would have to draw first, then 2 golden pegs picked from the bag and put back in before the normal draw takes place.

Thoughts anyone Image

I think the Yale used to have something like that and called it the bonus peg. I'm not sure why they don't do it now but I'll pay my £1. Image

Hi Si – just a few thoughts

Depends what you want to run a GP for
1. Purely to bump up potential winnings or
2. Encourage anglers to turn up on venues they might not ‘fancy’ or
3. Generate revenues for the club or
4. All three

We run a GP at £1 per match (non optional) and as you suggest, it’s only for members, visitors are excluded.

Large pots can accumulate – it takes a bit to draw the peg in the first place, then you’ve got to win off it so the odds are staked against you.

So we increase the number of golden pegs in any one match as the season progresses – you could do this at various accumulated pot levels – eg when pot hits £75 have two golden pegs, 3 at £100, 4 at £150 etc etc or just add an extra golden peg after every 3 or 4 matches that it isn’t won.

What happens to the pot if not won by/at the end of the season/league  Image

You could
1. Use it as the start pot next season or
2. Deem every peg a golden peg in the last match – so that it is won, or
3. If a golden peg frames in the last match pay them 50% , or
4. The club funds have all the pot for future match booking fees or as we do
5. 50% goes into club funds and 50% starts next seasons pot (with only 1 GP to start)

Cheers for that well written info Tony Image
Its just for fun really, not for any other reason.
Like the idea about bumping up the pegs as the money increases :)

If no one wins it at the end I will have it for the trouble lol. No it will roll on to next year. Most of Yale anglers are lucky so it won't be long before its won :P :P

si,
what is the match format/structure for the yale,

match day fee ,and payouts, as we used to do the golden peg thing at my previous club and if it was not won we used to roll over to the next match, mind you though only 2 members ever won in the season,so we decided to introduce sections on the matches as the club ended up with about £800 in the kitty, but very good idea though. £7 on the day mate.
£4 Superpool and £3 Club pool.
50p goes towards the Averages too. So whoever win the Averages at the end gets the money.
Payout is 1st, 2nd and 3rd. Tinky is looking to bring in paying 4th too.
I'm defiantly thinking about running the golden peg, adds a bit of fun and pressure if you draw a golden peg Image

An extra pool to boost the money up. You don't have to go in it I don't think.
I always do though, you never know when your gonna win and you can bet your ass that if you don't pay it you will win :D :D
