Good luck dude, I have a feeling it won't fish very well due to spawning so I'd go for the silvers, remember Andy Spruce's bag of silvers from there (I think it was the Ash pool anyway). I'm just off for a spot of Gudgeon bashing at Coven, aint done that for ages.

Thanks Si but as you already know by now I rang Tinky this morn and he guided me to the stretch. God I wish he hadn't lol. My first fish was a 3oz skimmer, then a 1.5lb Chub, then a gudgeon, then a Perch and all I had after that was Gudgeon even on Corn. I decided to move peg and try the bay where I foul hooked a Roach about 4oz then it was back to gudgeon, I finally gave up an hour later when a Dick churned mud up in my peg trying to turn his boat round. Give me Rolling Mill St or the Wharfe any day, people moan about the bikes and pedestrians but I can cope with those but a boat every 5 mins which keeps going through your feeding area I can't be doing with, that's besides the bikes, pedestrians and the odd Golf ball if your near the bay, you might need a hard hat.

Sounds like you had a bitch of a day mate :(
I however had a good day. I drew peg 30, the weather was quite warm and there was fish topping all over so I set up a shallow rig, a margin rig and a rig for 6 meters out.
Couldn't be arsed complicating things I started on the red meat on the 6 meter line. I had fed pellet and corn on this line and just pellet on my margin swim.
I missed the first bite which was very fast dropped it back down and hooked into a carp which was about 8lb, nice start.
I had bugger all for the next half hour from that line so I tried the margin and hooked into another carp after about 5 mins. Then that went dead too and a load of scum came floating in front of me. So I shipped out to 10 meters with my shallow rig with pellet and had another carp. Then nothing
Ended up having 2 more carp from the margin for 21lb 5oz which won my section and second overall.
Tommo won it with 43lb of foul hooked fish One guy had a carp on for 1 hour only to loose it at the all out He was using grey hydro for carp though
Had a few spots of rain today and just having a BBQ now but it looks like its gonna pi$$ down :( :( Gonna hit the beer

Hey Dude, regarding the scum, I learnt something today. I sat on a peg that was full of grass cuttings on top of the water ( I like to do things the hard way) and placing the hook into a clear spot was proving difficult but after that Chub my elastic wouldn't go back into my pole so I got out my slip which is simple fairy liquid watered down and as the drips were coming out of the end of my pole the scum on top of the water was dispersing like magic so on a pool cupping some of this out would definately give you a clear spot. I thought it worth a mention and indeed worth a try if it happens again.
Well done in coming 2nd mate, I see Tinky's name wasn't mentioned lol.

Thanks DudeWell done in coming 2nd mate, I see Tinky's name wasn't mentioned lol.
He weighed 3lb and had a end peg He was not a happy bunny. After the match I found out there was a match on there the day before and they hammered it big time.
I didn't take the yellow stream as he didn't rip into me last week for only getting 1lb 14oz He had enough from everyone else anyway. Fishing is a nasty game lol

just read your report on the jam factory si, yes i did have a bad day but that was mainly down to me, :Pshould not have messed around with my elasticks knowing i had not got time to do them, but saying all that it was a poor draw,i knew when i got to my peg i would not do any good. but that is no excuse with what i lost i should have at least framed, but make the best of it si becuse ther is a long way to go.

I'm always up for it. Its luck of the draw on alot of venues though.
I'm nowhere near as good as you guys, you have experience on your side So I must just get lucky with the draws
I have learnt alot from last year and when I'm walking around after I have setup I am always looking at how people do things different to me and stealing tricks and ideas
I think Sprucey has cottoned onto my "How much have you had" "Oh not alot" trick now though
Aston Eyre next Sunday, not a favourite of mine but its better than staying in the house or working

Don't put yourself down mate, your as good as the rest of us, we all need a decent draw to do any good.

Cheers dude, You should have joined Goodyear. Nice fill in for when Yale ain't got a match on.
The banter is better though lol. Poor Tinky gets a right hammering unless he is baggin then its the other way round. Still good fun though.
All for £10... Can't complain. Good venues also.
