Well it wont be long now until I start booking the venues. I will be ringing Rockells next week ( they dont start bookings til after 1st Jan) and once I have a date for that then the rest will follow.

Definate venues are

Rockells
Colemans Pathfield
Colemans Woods
Hartleylands Nicks
Rayne Lodge Top Lake
Pea Lane

Im still looking for 2 other venues plus a possible special match on a private water.

Peter has also come up with a suggestion to have a a friendly day out where he and possibly a couple of others wont fish but be available to give help and advice to those who would like to improve their catches or try different methods.

There arent many canals or rivers in Essex that arent club waters Si although the Lea Navigation is a possible. Trouble is parking and day ticket anglers are usually a problem and the stretches that could be suitable I wouldnt want to leave my car as Id like to return to find it in one piece.

I guessed that you would be one of the first to reply Keith. Dont worry I already had you and Vic on my list to ring for Rockells and Colemans.

I have only booked one match so far yet i already have 4 guests down on 3 of our matches. We are popular arent we. ;) I wonder if Simple will put his name down too?

Colemans shouldnt be a problem as there are 36 pegs but I like only 20 at Rockells so it could mean I wont know til a week before.

You would like Hartleylands as well Keith.

Please be aware that to avoid a clash with the MDs Intersite match I have moved the 2nd Colemans Cottage match from the 22nd August and it is now the previous weekend 15th August

Dave,

Please put me down for all matches. Great idea about the day when the experts might be prepared to help us mere mortals!

Cheers,

Graham

I have just added an extra match at Monk Lakes. I wasnt going to book Monk this year as I already have two south of the Thames but rather than wait until the end of April for our first day out I thought we could just fish it and pay the full ticket costs instead of using club funds to subsidise it.
So it will be £8 plus £2 pools for the day.

For those of you who have been following the Xmas appeal and Fayes thread on Maggotdrowning, I have also given Dave T (Fayes Dad) an invitation to join us on this match.

Right all bookings now done except one for October. Judy has come up with a suggestion of Blind Lane Fishery http://blindlanefisheries.googlepages.com/matches. Colin and I will be checking it out soon and booking it if it seems OK.

Full list of dates is available here http://yaleac.si-lad.com/forum/YaBB.pl?num=1231444873

Dave,
You mention on this thread that you've booked both Pathfield and Woods at Colemans Cottage, but on the match list both Colemans matches appear to be on Pathfield. Can you clear this one up please. Image

The venues listed above are the ones I wanted to book. Trouble is Woods lake is used every Saturday for an open match and nearly all Sundays are fully booked.
So I decided to have both on Pathfield as most members like the venue.

What I may do later this year is book one on Woods on a Sunday for next year before all the dates get taken.

Must have been very lucky this year as apart from Woods lake every date I asked for was available. No clashes with MDs matches/fishins or Jinx dates. Image Image

Good job done Dave - 90% sorted by wk2 of Jan - you must be takin' a lead from Malc's new found organisational powers? :o :D
Pics of Blind Lane - looks ok to me. I assume its in Essex? We could give it a trial as soon as we get a decent spot of weather over the next 2-3 weeks - unless thats too early for this particualr water (mainly carp & tench mentioned?)
