I hear an angler today was 9lb over the 50lb limit at Tunnel Barn Farm, when he was given 50lb he gave the lad on the scales a load of abuse..

If this is correct should he be banned?

he needs to apologize to the scales man thats for sure....then take it up with the rule makers... it may be a genuine mistake but deffo not the scales mans.....if all the rules are adhered to religiously at this place then yes a short ban.....but if rules are only enforced now and then he may have a case  Image (not for taking it out on the scalesman )

Its hard judging how much exactly you have but rules are rules and are there for everyone.
Agree with what Larry said.

If the alleged abuse were directed at the scalesmen in a serious tone then a short ban may be a deterrent to the person concerned and all others who may want to try.

A lot of banter flies around during weigh ins and could it have been misconstrued.

Not having fished there for a while, I cannot ever remember seeing or being told there was a 50lb limit on TBF. Is this new or do they think I won't catch that much?

Some of the venues I fish i may need upto 5 :D clickers to record weight.

Everyone on the TBF WL knows to put two nets in and should split their fish evenly between them so anyone who doesnt should be penalised but definitely not banned.

are you saying he could have had a 100lb in each net if he were using 2 nets..... and did he only have one net in..... already now we have confusion over rules......or is it 50lb per net and keep adding nets..............................if its abuse for the scalesman he should be banned why should people on the scales have to take it.....

Going over the weight limit is an easy mistake to make but rules are rules.

Effing and blinding at a 16 year old kid is unacceptable in my book.
