Named and shamed TK Grueller Match 7

How the series was won and lost
Or
The return of the King(s)
The series had taken its toll on the original 18 members taking part in the series and only 12 warriors turned up for the final Grueller match. The Wedge found this disturbing if he was to have any chance of overturning BDM at the top of the league.
Although no overnight frost, no warm water was pumping so it was expected to be another difficult match where the draw would prove critical.
First out of the hat was young Shaunie taking residence on Simples peg 16. Geoff was grinning from ear to ear to get way from Cashmores Corner on peg 5. Even with a bigger grin was Heinzer who draw in the first 3 pegs in years of asking – peg 2 to be precise.
The Wedge pulled peg 11, happy that that was always good for 2-4lb. Yamo chuntered when Zorro again pulled out peg 3, muttering that the sum of Zorros draws still wouldn’t add up up to 15, the peg he’d drawn. Rich Cashmore drew 10 and decided not to fish and go on the outlet.
2 pegs left in the bag, with KOD and BDM to go. Pegs 1 and unfancied 6. BDM mode kicked in and KOD pulled out peg 1. The worst possible scenario had been realised for BDM who was now in trouble with 6 whilst The Wedge on 11 and KOD on 1.
All in. BDM thought he’d try to snare a chub straight away on the brambles so went straight across – a long put in - with double red on a size 14 to 3.6lb straight thru. Straight away the float sailed away, strike………..a gudgeon. Well dry net avoided.
Next put in bite, and trashed rig. Sod putting a new rig on at the mo. Time to see what’s down the shelf. Double disco pinkie to 1.4lb s/t in 5ft water, pult a bit of feed out, start to ship – hey what’s the problem with the rig – another bloody tangle. Less than 10 mins gone and two trashed rigs. What a bl**dy start.
Geoff of peg 5 faired even worse…………8 trashed rigs on the brambles during the match.
Whistle for all out. Unless everyone had had a mare of a match, BDM was in serious trouble and the title had probably slipped from his grasp. Today was one Houdini act and jailbreak to far……….
It had fished hard and come the scales, mere ounces were to once again prove critical in the final decision.
Apparently Heinzer on peg 2 only had 4 gudgeon going into the last hour. Wedge had caught constantly, whilst KOD resorted to fishing lumps of meat on the boom, and whilst ‘tooled up’ has lost a few beasties. Similar story for Yammo who lost two beasties on 15.
Young Shaunie had only had one walk, where he had owned up to having 40 gudgeon to BDM’s two, so he’d had a few fish too. Ginger Tom hadn’t walked so what had he caught off a favoured peg 14?
