What angling skill, if any, have you ‘lost’ over the last few years?

When I predominantly used to fish the cuts, and rivers, I could lob, whilst still fishing, either an egg, nugget or marble of sloppy groundbait virtually on top of my float at typically a range of 9 -11 meters. It was certainly unusual for it to land outside the area of a dinner plate.

But the advent of cupping equipment coupled with the ban of gb on most pools……………………………

i am happy that they sell cupping kits...

I have always struggled with throwing bait, alright with snowballs and cricket balls, but casters, groundbait, etc etc have always gone all over the cut....too be honest i aint any better with a catty.

Well at least that's a honest response Chockie Monster  Imagel

It always was a bit difficult feeding 'neat' joker :D ............but I was ok pinging a marble of joker in grey leam across.

I seem to be a bit iffy with the catty just lately too  Image

Has to be using a rod and reel. since the purchace of my first pole they have been gathering cobwebs. when finally exhumed from the holdall it was like starting all over again, basics were there but the skill had gone. it's surprising how you take it for granted. need to practice for the new season.

And as for 11-13 shot...........................took me 3 days at work to tie up one of the Chockie Monsters 20x13 shot rigs

Flicking a feeder full of hemp and caster tight across the Trent to lure a nice net of chub from under the overhanging branches. If I tried to do it now, it would look like a bloody Christmas tree with bits of gear hanging off it  :-/
OR
Casting a 2xNo4 Billy Makin canal waggler tight to the bullrushes on the T & M canal and catching a net of caster Roach.  :'(

Mind, I could still give Hoddy a run for his money fishing the porcupine quill anywhere  ;)

Actually catching any fish at all seems to be my problem these days...........

I remember a few years back bank walking on a struggling TK canal match. I watched TK catapult 3 casters to his float on the far bank and all 3 landed within centimeters of his float. I thought, you jammy b....tard. He then proceeded to do the same again with exactly the same result! I then realized I was in the prescence of a master!  Bum Draw Master? He can catch fish out of any Bum peg you care to give him!

what skills? i have lost my mobility walking to the peg, when i was younger i was fit and strong now im just overweight. as for fishing skills i think i am as near to faultless as any current modern proefessional angler i do not see a weak point in any of my methods tactics or tricks. ok i can improve but people tend to learn from me nowadays.
