Fine warm weather and the lake looked great. Spawning over - eyes down for a session of bumper weights...................
Er well no actually. The going was a lot harder than we expected, but a few found the right formula for a decent weight.
It has to be said that the lake fished very 'fairly' - no flyers and a reasonable spread of weights around the lake. In contrast to 2018, the new end did not fish noticeably better this year. They just weren't feeding today - but if you grafted away you got a liitle bit of reward - mostly up in the water and at distance.
First today was Mark on peg 23 with 94-08lb all caught UIW; 2nd was John who left at 2:15 but still put 71-12lb on the scales using his favourite 'on the top' approach; 3rd was Chris T with 70-00lb again mostly UIW. Well done fellas. For the rest, as you will see, just a few lb made a big difference to the middle order positions.
