Just remember the rules. NO practising is allowed only preapproved Fact Finding Missions are acceptable.
Re: Winter ???????
Just realised that its only 29 days to the first match. Best go and see what new elastics and floats I need.

Re: Winter ???????
Got my latest batch of NG XTs in last week. Now rigged up as well. The latest ones are black rather than the previous swirly blue design.
Also gone over to side pullers throughout with some fresh , and mostly lighter, elastics.
Hope all this effort brings a better season than the very ordinary one I had last year. Mmmmm.
One things for sure I'll be catching more than Keith at quite a few matches this year - well just the ones he cant make cos of work that is

Re: Winter ???????
It has taken a lot of effort but have managed to get time off for all except one at the moment, but that could change very quickly as people leave.

Monks 1, first time been there and no wind - flat calm and very bright. First hour on a feeder, not a touch so switched to the pole top 2 + 3, bit slow for half an hour then started to get skimmers every so often.
A few others on the lake but couldn't see much being caught, eventually mid afternoon caught first carp about 6lb and a short time later another one around 8lb and then around 3.30pm it just died completely so around 4pm packed up - gates closed at 5pm anyway, in total had about a dozen skimmers and the two carp but not bothered as a very pleasant day in the sun.

Re: Winter ???????
Ventured out (first time since the MDs Xmas match) with Mick today to Alder's Farm Pines Lake, the change in temperature had put a damper on events with Mick having 20lb of skimmers and around a dozen carp whilst I am playing with Corn again this season. I had around 35 to 40 carp between 1lb and 5lb for approximately 100lb. Packed up early as it started to rain and did not want to get my new hooks wet. Might get another day out before you all start taking my pennies again.
