Only 7 fished today - almost certainly our lowest turnout ever. It seems we had an extreme combination of holidays, prior committments, illness etc plus it may be too much of a journey for 1 or 2.
We fished the left hand bank - the peg numbers below are ours not the lake's. Peg 1 was near the car park in open water, and 9 at the far end, in the narrow part of the lake.
The planned removal of the larger fish has taken place as rumoured elasewhere. Just 1 or 2 (literally) decent carp in the 7-10lb bracket today and a few lesser ones - quite a change from our last match here when weights were mostly made up of good numbers of doubles.
So todays nets were not dominated by carp - crucians and silvers made a significant contribution as well, including a few tench. Cant remember the last time I saw Clive put 20lb of silvers into the weigh sling. :tiphat
Terry was todays worthy winner - well ahead fo the field with 73lb 4oz - from end peg 9 at the far end of the lake. :thumsup. This was the best end today and weights declined the further you drew down the lake towards the car park.
I think everyone enjoyed their day once we had adjusted to the change in the stock - a very different sort of day but in pleasant surroundings. We need to decide quite soon if we want to book it again.
Result:
1. Terry peg 9 73-04
2. Mick peg 8 56-04
3. Tony peg 7 36-12
4. Clive peg 4 34-00
5. John peg 1 16-04
6. Gino peg 3 12-04
7. Kevin peg 2 4-08
