Question - how do you end up wet and bedraggled on a warm and sunny summers day. Answer - fish Aarons of course.
A busy and for some a slightly tiring day with a new club record of a staggering 861lb - by Al of course. :tiphat
Plus one 500lb, 4 400lb and 2 300lb weights to back it up. :thumsup
While its probably fair to describe this as easy fishing, once a year many still find it fun and rewarding. The majority view was that we should keep it in the calendar.

1. Peg 2: Al 861-00
2. Peg 10: Keith 550-04
3. Peg 11: Tony R 497-04
4. Peg 13: Tony W 486-08
5. Peg 7: John 439-08
6. Peg 5: Simon 428-08
7. Peg 4: Mick 373-08
8. Peg 9: Clive 320-04
9. Peg 8: Terry 293-04
10. Peg 3: Keith P 245-08 (guest)
11. Peg 6: Jim 231-00
12. Peg 12: Gino 209-12
13. Peg 1: Rod 118-00

Section winners pegs 1-4 and 13 Al; pegs 5-8 John; pegs 9-12 Keith. Total weight 5054lb 13 anglers :surprisev

For those who like a bit of detail here are the morning and afternoon weights (3h each):

Peg 1: Rod 46-00 and 78-00
Peg 2: Al 372-00 and 489-00
Peg 3: Keith P 85-08 and 143-00
Peg 4: Mick 132-08 and 241-00
Peg 5: Simon 184-00 and 244-08
Peg 6: Jim 77-00 and 154-00
Peg 7: John 202-08 and 237-00
Peg 8: Terry 123-12 and 169-08
Peg 9: Clive 80-08 and 239-12
Peg 10: Keith 213-00 and 337-04
Peg 11: Tony R 228-12 and 268-08

Match there today and Micky Corsini had 1341 lb . Winner had 1514lb. How is that possible if you stick to the rules as we do.

Thats 250lb an hour or 1 8lb carp every 2 minutes. Or quicker than that in the second session as thats always better. That doesnt take into account weighing fish over 8lb and even if every fish is under 8lb then thats 13 or more keepnets.

This is the report on Facebook and I think that it's safe to say that these matches aren't being fished to the rules that you lads are fishing to.
I would hazard a guess that unhooked fish are getting scooped when landing hooked fish and being added to keepnets, it's certainly not unheard of in matches down there. ;)
IMO it's getting beyond stupid down there as I don't see how you can do over 200lbs of fish per hour and have any real regard for their welfare.

Al is as quick an angler as I know so how they do this beats me! These fish go mental in the net so unhooking is not easy as well as adding them to nets, seems impossible to me without serious rule bending.

One comment was an 8 to 10lb fish in the landing net in 3 seconds.

Hadn't been fishing for a while so was good to get back into. Aaron's being an easy way to get going again.
Really enjoyed the day and a big well done to Al on the record and thank you for all the advice again.
Agree with some of the others, fish welfare can't be happening, pulled out some of the ugliest fish I've seen in a while.
I can't see how you can set those records the others are getting without breaking the fishery rules.
All said put me down for next year pls :tiphat
Thx's too Tony foe sorting the match out, hopefully Mr C will be back soon
