Oxford canal open

The practice open match for the next round of the Oxford winter league was fished by 28 anglers on the Oxford canal through the Jericho area, In mild but blustery conditions the canal fished very well with plenty of small fish but also plenty of big fish.
1st Steve Townsend – Drennan Oxford – 19lb 6oz. Steve drew top end peg above Elizabeth Jennings bridge and had skimmers and perch on worm over chop worm and caster fished down the track on the pole.
2nd Alex Clements – JCB Greenshield – 11lb 8oz. Alex drew 3 below Frenchay road bridge and had perch to 2lb on lobworm over chop worm and caster on the pole.
3rd Paul Passmore – Devizes – 9lb 6oz. Paul drew 2 above Aristotle lane bridge and had a bream plus perch again on worm over chop worm.
4th Martin Wickens – Drennan Oxford – 8lb 9oz.
