Next up we have Nicks lake at Hartleylands. We have the whole lake so there will be plenty of room.

As all the platforms have now been removed we will have to do our own pegging so I will be looking for a volunteer or two to get there by 8 am to do it. Also as I am not available for the Alders match I need someone who will be going to Alders to take care of the scales tripods and weigh nets etc.

Who is coming then.

Unfortunately I will not be able to fish this one. I will be returning from a festival with the Yam Yams at Viaduct fisheries on this day.

Yesterday Tony ,Terry and I went to fish a new venue Cackle Hill. Unfortunately they have changed their Speci/Match lake back into a specimen only lake with a £25 ticket without changing the details on their website.
We therefore decided not to fish their 12 peg small lake and to divert to the nearest available fishery to at least use up our bait, which just happened to be Hartleylands.

There was a small club match (7 anglers ) on the right hand bank of Nicks lake so we settled half way along the road bank with the shortest walk.

The 6 hour club match weights were 161lb, 146lb, 131lb, 90lb down to a lowest of 53lb.

After 5 hours of lighthearted fishing including 3 stops for a brew Tony had 100 to 120 carp of varying sizes I didn't have a clue how many but must have been more than 70 with a few around the 4 to 6lb mark. As for Terry he started on the peg next to me and after a couple of hours of bagging loads of roach with a few carp he moved along one swim to get away from the roach but unfortunately they just followed him. :rage :rage. We now know 2 swims that he wont be pegging out. :rofl

One thing I saw for the first time ever was one of the club guys throwing pellets into his keepnets ( had about 50lb in each) while waiting for the weigh in. The carp were swirling around and fighting to get the pellets first. :surprise :surprise

You two couldn't scare the skin off of a rice pudding. :rofl :rofl

There we are, the 3 of us sacrificing our day off, to go and try to find new venues for you lot and what thanks do we get... None... just abuse. Its not our fault that the nearest place was Hartleylands is it. Its not our fault we needed to fish to get some stress relief after all our research into Cackle hill was wasted.

Its not our fault the fish were hungry. Its not my fault that when tapping my top two on the surface the carp came up and tried to eat my connector. Its not our fault we were bagging up in the sun while you were sitting in the dark dingy office wrking woking orking getting paid for doing very little now IS IT. :rofl :rofl

Now get on with paying your taxes to provide for my pension as I need another holiday :nana :nana.
