There seems to be fish on both sections only if the wind gets up on the common it would be unpleasant to say the least. I've heard there's going to be some bivvies up over the weekend so I will post section by Tue or wed depending on weather n carpers..

Quite a bit of colour from Fishley bridge back to Wood Lane yesterday when I walked the pooch down there. I noticed the metal gate on the towpath was open and looks like someone has removed the lock

It wasn't the Fishley Lane gate Col, it was the metal one on the towpath about half way between Wood Lane bridge and the bridge at Fishley car park.

This will be one of the gates installed to encourage young people with motorised cycles to proceed with dignity and caution as they journey anxiously to their parents wedding.
(If you get my meaning)

Looks like we all know who we need to beat on Saturday.....
Extract to be included in weekends Express & Star
(and yep I did clock that he'd won last week)
'Seasoned campaigner Barry Astbury (Pelsall Old Boys) continued his run of good form by landing Wednesday's 25-peg Wolverhampton Over 60's Club open held on the Cross Keys stretch of the Staffs & Worcs Canal in Penkridge, drawn on end peg 25 Astbury pole-fished caster and worm bagging a bonus 2½lb bream, which propelled him to the top, bolstered by roach and small silvers for a 5-7-6 top weight. Stafford-rod Tony Keeling (Team Eclipse) followed with a 4-6-8 net made up of one chub and around thirty roach to various baits at the other end of the match length on peg 1, pipping Stu Brailsford (Bridgtown Social AC) into third when he scaled a brace of caster-chub and a single gudgeon for 4-6-2 at peg 20.
