This postcard was posted a century ago in 1915, hence I wondered whether it was still there, gone or replaced.....

It is called the Castmetal Bridge and is on the Shugborough Fishing Club stretch of the T& M Canal.
Loads of moored boats now.

If you walk over the bridge it takes you to Essex Bridge over the River Trent.

Follow the path on the opposite side of Great Haywood Sports and Social Club. Cross the road and the path takes you straight to Castmetal Bridge.

No TK always Castmetal Bridge, never known it as 'owt else.

Pretty Bridge is on Wolves AA stretch of Staffs-Worcs not far from motorway bridge.

Pretty sure I walked over that bridge on an fms league match some years ago. Also for div 1 practise match as well which I framed in with 2 carp for 19lb.

Most of the stretches round here Dodge have there own "Hippy communes" moored up 365 days of the year. Priory stretch at Armitage, Wolsley Bridge and Shugborough. They are all near bridges, so they can park their cars. I always thought there was a minimum period of days a boat could moor up, but obviously the powers that be don't bother with them. Pain in the ass having to peg round them. Rant over

The country folk you are on about all moored up at Shugborough a few weeks before the Div One National which was over five years back now..

They started threatening the locals taking their dogs for a walk. They also appeared to be on some funny stuff.
I had to sort before the section was used in the National. A couple of phone calls in the right quarters was all that was needed.

With one or two exceptions (no more) they all crappity smack off overnight. I believe they went to Penkridge somewhere, well off the match length.
The only other time I saw a lot of them, sure it was the same lot, they came through Norbury Christmas before last.

14 days is the rule Paul, that a boat is allowed to stay in one area. These "Continuous moorers" or, as I like to call 'em, "Cuntinuous moorers" are indeed a pain in the ass not only to anglers but to bone fide boaters as well, as they hog the "honey pot" moorings and make it very difficult for visiting boaters to moor. It is a big issue in the boating fraternity which the powers that be seem powerless to address.
