Well, a dozen gruellerites turned up following temperatures of minus 5 overnight to be greeted with a nice cap of ice on the cut. Even the hairdresser turned up despite his lift letting him down, fair play BDM :thumsup
As a reward, Big Col even helped him get dressed :toungeout :toungeout

Big Col pegged out and the draw was made, ice breakers shared to clear pegs, and away we went. As you will see from the results, the title says it all as it was feast for some, and famine for others :surprise :surprise :surprise

Slim pickings on peg 6 , one hooked pike which pinged my hooklength on the ice and a missed bite 2 hours later , never mind , always another day .

Finished up on an end peg as pegs 1 to 5 decided on an early bath .

Tight lines

I would not put digit to key board as I guessed those brave Gruelites who fished would not have stopped shivering yet. It sure looked like a true Grueler.
On a more positive note will there to be one more before Christmas (20/12/14). And will it be , appropriately at the Plum Pudding, Armitage ?

it was the poor buggers on the pegs above you titch..sitting in the shade all day, they never saw daylight :toungeout :toungeout :fistycuffs Image Image

Deffo a match of 2 halves in more ways than one...fish a chuck for 1st 2 hrs...very small but just kept plugging away between inside line and one about 7m...then had a perch on the punch inside ,never had another bite from it :rage

managed to keep 7m line going a bit longer until i was paid a heavenly visit and was touched by the hand of KOD...3 more fish in about 10 mins then that was it :'(....Cheers Kod ya bugger :'( :'(

couldnt believe low numbers didnt catch..plenty of fish week before ,obviously cold snap had a big effect,

Cheers Col for the rig, deffo made a difference :tiphat

Have been informed by she who must be obeyed that i have to keep the weekend of the 20th free because i HAVE to go and finish the xmas shopping with her...so no grueller for me if one that weekend :facepalm
