Fed up with hooks getting caught in landing net when using micro barb hooks on rivers.

Can anyone suggest a net that's best to use / reduces this issue ? (don't want to go barbless hook route).

Many thanks

Mark,

Either get a net from maver, can't remember the name exactly but theyre made with a plastic kind of material like a speed net so the hook can't get stuck in them (dark green in colour + metal rim), il have a look what its called when i get home at work at mo.

Or

Go to sam's shop and ask for a speed net, technially they're illegal but if anyone asks i didnt tell you to get one haha.
hope that helps pal.

Any of the so called "quick drying" nets (rubber coated) will help reduce this loads mate - most of the usual suspects do em. :thumsup

I must say i've seen a few starting to appear on matches again Sam all i can say if someone complains about illegal nets being used could mean disqualification from the competition perhaps wants clearing with Brian before the start of the winter league .
The Stainy league wont weigh you in if you have one on the bank and i thought they had gone for good .
Sensas do a rubber net like most companies these are brilliant you hardly ever get snagged
Over in Ireland i had problems hooking my net and borrowed a rubber net :thumsup :thumsup

Its the single strand monofiliment knotted nets that are banned in the UK sharki. very swift through the water, as there is very little drag, they are still available and widely used in mainland Europe, so I suspect people are getting them from there and using them here in the UK? All forms of knotted net have been banned and not sold in the Uk for quite some time, 20 years+ at least? As the knots are suspected to remove the scales from the fish. So we really shouldn't be using them
