Abingdon Mayors cup

30 anglers fished the traditional bank holiday Abingdon mayors cup on the Thames at Abingdon. Fished in very wet conditions the large shoals of roach were conspicuous by there absence but weights were still good.
1st Stuart Harrop - Turners - 15lb 4oz. Paul made the most of a end peg draw near Donkey bridge and had a net of roach and skimmers on caster over groundbait on the pole.
2nd Mike Martin - Sensas Cardiff Nomads -. 14lb 11oz Mike drew Dace corner, below the Ock, and had 1 bream plus 6 skimmers on worm on a flat float on the pole over groundbait.
3rd Paul Glenfield - Drennan Banbury Gunsmiths - 14lb 8oz. Paul drew next to the winner and had a similar net of roach and skimmers on the pole and caster over groundbait.
4th Tony Hobbs - Drennan Banbury Gunsmiths - 13lb 7oz
5th Bob Cosby - Sutton Cortney - 12lb 5oz.
