Oxford Summer League practice Thames Medley Folly

The practice match for the Oxford summer league was fished by 25 anglers on the Thames at Folly and Medley. With the hot and sticky weather and numerous swimmers and boats a lot of angler thought it might be a hard match but it turned out to be a brilliant match. Bream and perch showed at Folly and roach showed on Medley.

1st John Beesley - Drennan Banbury Gunsmiths - 24lb 3oz. John drew 2 above the Fancy bridge at Folly and 5 bream to 4lb on the pole and worm over groundbait. He topped this up with skimmers and perch on pole and worm over chop worm.

2nd Alan Brown - Turners - 22lb 8oz. Alan drew end peg at Folly by the cottages and had 3 bream plus perch and roach on pole and worm over groundbait.

3rd Geoff Lewendon - Drennan Banbury Gunsmiths - 20lb 10oz. Geoff was also at Folly and had bream, skimmers and perch on the pole and worm over groundbait.

4th John Taylor - Tubertini South - 18lb 3oz. John was top weight on Medley with a net of roach on the waggler and tares over hemp feed.

5th Paul Glenfield -Drennan Banbury Gunsmiths - 17lb 3oz.
