Done that before now Si. Fished in the fields at Ironbridge on the Buildwas (Power Station) top section. (One bl**dy thing also trod on the end of my stick rod and smashed it about 9ins from the end) I've also still got a length of line in my carryall just incase I have to revert to the tactics of yesteryear, particularly in Winter on the rivers, when it was common to tie yourself to a tree incase you accidentally went for a dip.
Non of this commercial stuff in them days........
And we looked like the ragged wobbly cheeks rovers (well I probably still do) - none of this designer gear and winter clobber - it was a pair of damarts or if your mates didn't clock you a pair of the missus tights on together with your parker coat.
Ah...........happy days

Don't blame "The good old days" as a excuse for wearing your misses tights

The phone box down to the spar shop, leave the pegs out between then spar and the butchers and then from the butchers to the hairdressers
Least you will have a nice level path to sit on :D

BACK UP PLAN
Spoke to the fishery just after 4pm - Evesham is under water and they doubted whether we would get to the pool never mind the river.
Thanks for the rain dance Wedgy :(
