Well Folks, what a shitter of a day I had yesterday on the peunltimate round of the winter league, I'm cutting a long story short but the last hour I went on the Caster to put a few bonus fish together and after 10 mins I'd had 2 netter Roach and missed 2 bites when along cane a freak gust of wind and blew my brolly right over taking my bait tray with it and all my bait and tray went into the canal along with my top 3's and my fone. So I spent the last 45 mins not fishing but trying to get my fone back and other bits n pieces. I am now in 3rd palce in the league and trailing by 3 points. To win it now is going to be hard but it can be done witha small miracle.

I am soooo fed up.

Btw, si if you want to ring me and can't get thru it's coz my fone is still in the cut

I would have left my phone and tryed to get some casters out and carry on fishing. You could buy a new phone with your winnings on ebay

I been to the tackle shop today to sort a new pole out by way of an insurance claim, dunno if I'll get one yet but it looks promising

Well folks, it was the final of the winter league yesterday and I had yet another rubbish draw. I drew peg 15 which does not usually produce, Crocky drew it last week and had 9oz off it. I won the match of it with 4lbs 2oz which consisted of a Tench of approx 1.5lbs, Roach and Skimmers. Started on the Punch and 3m whip and was biteless after 10 mins so went out at 8m with the squatt and started picking up bigger than average squatt fish to 2oz but bites were slow, I persevered with that method for 2 1/2 hours before going over on my Caster lines, I fed 2 of them and again bites were slow but I was having the odd Roach to 3oz then all hell let loose as I hit into the Tench, it came swimming towards me as fast as it could then got me stuck in the weeds but after 10 mins he was mine. Low and behold about 25 mins later I hit into another one which broke me, I was only on 0.6 bottom. Anyway I won the match and finished 3rd in the league, Kevin Buxton was 1 point in front of me to finish 2nd and Mark Douglas was 1st with 3 points in front of me.

I was happy to finish 3rd given the bad draws I've had, I had 4 bad draws out of the 6 and one of the good draws was last week where I didn't fish the last hour as I lost all my bait and fone in the canal :(. Mark and Kevin have both had good draws on all 6 matches but that's match fishing.

I would have had 1.5lb bottom and white hydro on my caster rigs and that tench would have been mine But then again prolly would have got the bite in the first place as they fussy bastards when it comes to feeding.
Was you on the deck with the caster or just off bottom ??

I always fish the caster just off the bottom unless the bites are finicky. I sat in the rain this week and didn't put my brolly up, I also had my ear piece in and my new fone was in my pocket lol.

I'm looking forward to this match Sunday on the wharfe, there is going to be a few on it by all accounts.

My stuff is in the garage still as I left it all soaking wet and I can't be arsed to sort it out, gonna have to though before the weekend. I hate the prep work for a match.

Questions question

I got another fone the same as before, the Nokia 6230i, same number as before at the moment. My claim went off last monday but dunno when I'll get to hear anything.

I came to fish the Punch last Sunday to find my punch was missing, in the cut from last week, and then I came to put some chop worm in but my scissors were missing too, also in the cut doh. Still, I won the match.

Looking forward to the Wharfe this Sunday, should be a few on it too by all accounts.

Please god let me draw peg No 23 and not crocky
