[quote]Not sure whose decision it is about proctors it must have gone to a captains vote. 2 sections on there this week not the best
of sections either ,plus a new section on ratcliffe deeps.
Think there taking out bottom brinks? Didnt know who owns proctors ?

well put it this way his team ain't fishing winter league all the pegging money goes in his pocket ::) ::) ::)

I know I miss it ! Come on Joff there you go again ! You just cannot let it go ! I spoke to Rob Perkins tonight and he told me how well it is going, good communications, having different venues to try and improve sport, all by captains meetings.
Already 2 teams interested for next year !
Come on mate how about your lot entering next year ? You know it makes sense !!!!!!

the good thing about proctors is you can park behind your pegs but will cost the league rather than making money  Imagebut its what anglers want easy parking and thats the answer ::) ::) ::)
my point choppy is this is all i asked for at the meeting was to use sections with easy access you can look back throughout is topic and ask anyone that was at the meeting
but no one at that meeting even wanted to listen to the idea
and I'd like to make it clear that it wasn't my idea to have 5 on the canal and 5 on the river that came from two teams with one still fishing the league !!
like i said my idea was never to move it from the river just use the easier access simple
fact they have tried bonsors it was crap!! osier beds one section one or two caught put 2 sections on it crap!! abbey crap!! bottom end of the brinks crap!!all long walks
deeps the first winner came from parked behind his peg sutton has had a few frames parking good kegworth frames good parking and top end of the brinks has been good as has the greens all good access !! end of !! put the 1860 back in the fold [if they would like to pay last years parking fee >:(] and proctors i think you would get all the teams you wanted
it was never rocket science choppy

ps i have missed it mate but enough is enough that meeeting was a joke plus i was away for 3 of the matches
we will have to see what happens next year but ive heard it could change and be more like the drennan league as one or two areas are struggling to get more than 5 teams

Nice one Bucko Image
Yep another satisfied angler on the river winter league.
Joff, from what I have been told at the meeting by the blokes who were there was that you were never going to put a team in anyway.
You were offered blokes to make a team up, date changes, so you could fish it, blah, blah.
Your team took none of these options and decided you could not / did not want to fish it.
To be fair after that You should have left the meeting and left the others to sort it out (which they have succesfully done). Why would people listen to you when you were not going to fish it ?
It is a shame to see a demise of a once good team (mainly early 70's and a bit in the late 90's), however that's the way it goes.
You say the fishing on some of those sections are crap, however the lack of rain has been a major factor and those area's will pick up again.
I am glad you enjoyed France and the set up they have, I too have enjoyed myself over there, however the fishing is not always great as the many who blanked found out.
The type of fishing in this country is different to abroad for very obvious reasons and that will not change.
Times are changing in this country as regards team fishing and I am afraid you will not alter it as most anglers do not want it !
Anyway must go as prepping for Yorkshire Ouse Champs, loads on it, big walks, long drive, love it !

Well said choppy
I think youre being a bit over critical about this years league
joff .They have tried different sections to see if they produce and i think the anglers have enjoyed a bit of variety but the condition of the river at the minute is desperate for a good fortnight of rain.Like i said we all go to catch a few fish anything else is a bonus ,j just want a good days fishing after a 60 hour week at bloody work, its a shame the way team  angling is going in this country but thats how it is . I still love the crack with a good bunch of lads.
Good luck with the cips matches i think its a good idea.
Probably about a  3 match series & see how it goes.

it seams like perhaps you didn't want us to fish the league anyway
look it doesn't really matter i'm not falling out with anyone over fishing i love the sport and yes i love the company i'd much rather write about how the matches fished and the banter then all this and next year i'm sure you will do the same

Joff, it was actually at Shrewsbury and it was my diff that locked up and f**ked my driveshaft and gearbox to the extent where I had to write the motor off. (£4,000 to repair) Lost alot of money and had to buy a van which cost me another £5,000. This had nothing to do with oil just bad luck. All the money I won went down the drain but that's life. It might not be everybody's cup of tea but I have never fished in York and always fancied a go, so here's to a good day out on the river with all the challenges it face's. Where you going Joff ?
