I do believe though that if you have the right gear and are happy with the stuff youve got it can give you more confidence in your fishing and ultimately lead you to catching more fish, but there are people who spend money like its going out of fashion on gear and probrably dream about it every night.

ive read some of the topics on the matches you boys have and it sounds like yas have a good crack as well as a good days fishing but as ya can see on the discription im from the boro north east and as much as id love to fish some of the canals and waters down your way its just too long a drive. we dont have any canals down here but i have fished the lancaster canal which is black with tench to 5lb, fished it last year and had 65lb of tench and skimers and caught my pb of 5lb 10 oz
