Good to see you today Luke, I hope we have some better Luck on the Super League match next week.
I ran a Practice match for the Forthcoming Super League on the K&A today, here are the results :
South West Super League Practice open 5/6/11
42 Anglers fished the Garbolino Blackmore Vale open on the Kennet and Avon Canal at Great Bedwyn. They were spread over 3 sections of the canal at Crofton, Beeches and Church.
The Crofton end produced the first 2 anglers.
Richard Lacey of Maver Bathampton was drawn on peg 2 and put together a superb net of Bream and Skimmers for exactly 20lb, with several of his bream around the 3lb mark. Richard caught all of his fish on the pole firstly at 11M before moving over to 14.5M as the bites tailed off. Top baits for Richard were Red Maggot and Worms
In second place on peg 14, the downstream end peg at crofton was Kev Perry of Sensas Thyers, normally noted for his bream catching on his local river Huntspill, Kev showed that he can catch them elsewhere as he had about 10lb of skimmers in his net totalling 16lb 2oz, the rest was made up of roach to 8oz, and like the winner Red Maggot was the top Bait.
In third Place was Preston Innovation Thatchers Angler Gary O’Shea. Gary was on peg 25, next to the wires on the Beeches section and caught 14 skimmers along with some roach for 14lb 1oz Again on Red maggot over Groundbait.
Finally, the last frame place was taken by Mark Treasure of Daiwa Gordon League. Mark also caught skimmers from peg 23 two up from Gary, to total 12lb 8oz
1st Rich Lacey Maver Bathampton 20.0.0 (Avon)
2nd Kev Perry Sensas Thyers 16.2.0 (Somerset)
3rd Gary O’Shea PI Thatchers 14.1.0 (Somerset)
4th Mark Treasure Daiwa GL 12.8.0 (Gloucester)
5th Nigel Crewe Garbolino Blackmore Vale 11.12.0 (Gloucester)
6th Lee Trivett PI Thatchers 11.4.0 (Avon)
7th Alan Jones Daiwa GL 11.2.0 (Gloucester)
