Fished a bit harder today, mind you I felt I did things a bit better today ( I'm making so many mistakes after all these years off from silvers, but you have to pay to learn. Sitting next to anglers like Rob helps, my learning curve is vertical!)

Rob Wootton won, 15lb 13oz, then Tom Pringle 14lb 9oz, then M Russell 12lb 9oz, then me 12lb 3oz, M Roberts 10lb 1oz, B Greenbury 9lb 10oz.

Not bad for 1st week in Feb. I just wish I could get more local anglers to fish, I can't explain it

Next match is saturday, then 3 more on wednesdays.
everyone welcome

Also had a really nice surprise when someone who I haven't seen for over 25 years stood behind me for ages today.
Tony Scott came down and he confessed that watching me catch Roach on caster ( badly I imagine!!! lol)was really whetting his appetite for fishing agasin.
What a good angler he was ( and I have no doubt still would be, you don't fish for England for nothing). Chopped Worm Hero has been trying to talk him into going apparently, I hope he does.

There are fish in every peg, I'd be surprised if anyone on any peg didn't get bites. There are some better pegs for skimmers, but but the Roach are everywhere. I believe Stu Naylor had 20lb of roach last sunday on the opposite bank to where I was. that bank is a bit shallower.

I don't think you need bloodworm, maybe a little bit of joker, but I'm not 100% convinced of that.

The fishing in the Marina is brilliant, just not many places to fish now, and in the warmer weather there are millions of skimmers to a pound aswell

Good match again today

1st Lee Bennett Peg 3, 28lb 3oz, skimmers and roach

2nd Andy Taft Peg 16, 27lb 8oz, Roach

3rd Rob Wootton Peg 2, 25lb 8oz, Roach

4th Steve Porter Peg 10, 18lb 10oz

5th Gary Smith Peg 13, 15lb 12oz

I had one of the nicest days fishing I've had in years, catching roach on top kit plus 2 sections on caster, brilliant fishing.
