Dave,

Can you give Rod T. my phone number and ask him to ring me if he wants a lift down to Monks next week. We only live a couple of miles apart and it would seem daft not to. I know of talked about it last year but I don't have his number. Got some practice in last weekend - was happily catching roach at Mill Barn in Great Wakering then wallop - first a 12 pounder and then a 14 pounder (carp not roach!). Both on light pole elastic and line - each took about 20 minutes to land. See you Saturday.

Cheers,

Graham

Well by this time next week we'll be mulling over the results from the 1st match of the year  ;).
I just hope that we aren't treated to a repeat of the weather that we experienced down here in Kent yesterday otherwise it could turn into a  Image match.  Image

What does everyone reckon the winning weight will be, and what will the total weight be (excluding any frogs  Image)?

NB: I hope everyone's remembered to get their New Rod License. Image

According to Metcheck its going to be 20degC with a 2mph wind. Image

Stop worrying Mugger you can leave the new waterproofs at home, Im organising the match NOT BillG.

OH BUGGER!!!! Just realised that Bill IS coming. Image Image.

Has anyone got any artic waterproofs I can borrow. Image Image

The weights will depend on the draw. if one of the top anglers draws 45,46,47,66 or 56 then it will take a ton to win, if not then 80 may be enough.
With 20 fishing I expect the total weight will be over 750lb

Well last year was the first time most had fished it and we had a top weight of 87lb and a total of 672lb for 17 anglers. My estimates for this year are comparable.

Mind you, as it will be the second club visit, we will have 20 instead of 17 and the weather looks like it could be a bit better than the gale force winds we had last time, I suspect I may have underestimated the total weight.

It could be up to 900lb. Image Image

SORRY TK and Simps :-[ :-[ :-[ :'(

My guess is 600lb - mind you based on my estimating skills that would turn out to be rather more Image

Wonder how big the barbel are now - one things for sure, I'm looking forward to them seriously over punching their weight as ever - what a great fish Image

It will be quite interesting to compare the results from this and the Cashmores match as they're on the same day. Image

I wondered when that was gonna come up. I did expect Dave to mention it actually Image

I reckon there will be 500lb difference between your total match weight and Cashmores total match weight. Image Image
