Better late than never.

The turnout for Saturday's match was 96 of which 10 pegs were in the Goodyear AS water.

I somehow hesitate to write this one as the usual 'knockers' of Little Onn say this match was nothing more than crap.
I have the facts in front of me and quite honestly if this was crap you may as well take up crappity smack tiddly winks, you can moan as much as you crappity smack crappity smack, crappity smack like then.

Jason Whitfield (Railway AC) won the event with 32-6-8. Before the knockers start counting chub and spreading the usual crap about the 'Onn' he had twelve bream, with some topping 4 lb. He had two small chub of 2 lb each as well which for some reason that I don't understand is a crime to some; he caught on double red maggot, over a bit of choppie. He took advantage of peg 50 on the Gantry side of the cables. It was more than pleasing to see Pop Keeling (Shakespeare) in second place with more bream and a couple of small chub for 16-4-1; Pop was opposite one of the rose bushes and caught on chopped worm and caster. On the edge of the wood where there is no fish at all Dave Trafford (Lostock Tackle Box) had 16-3-0 of skimmers- I don't know what he caught on. Phil Cox (Fox Tipton Van den Eynde) had 13-9-0 of roach from the cattle drink on the Turnover section, he did have two small skimmers in that. Jason Cunningham (Fox Tipton Van den Eynde) had all squatt roach for 13-3-0 from a draw opposite the boats past the Gantry. There were more 10 lb pluses of all roach and lots of 8s and 9s. All this from a venue with supposedly no roach.
I can only apologise if some think that was crap; let's just say if you had 6lb you were 45th in E section.

If anybody thinks there is any sarcasm and sh!t in this write up they are crappity smack spot on. Image Image Image Image

OK A little more sedate this report.

Some 154 fished at Weston (K section) and Hoo Mill (J section) on the Trent and Mersey Canal. It really was an organisers nightmare but hopefully the cracks were healed over. I pegged the match out after the Saturday one and the mother of all storms come over. It was that bad the boats on the cut all moored up and the occupants went into the pubs. Not knowing they were staying or going meant I lost over 20 pegs but at least we had a match. I also managed to not get two pegs stuck together but Three but after a bit of fuss that was sorted. I think I drew one of them! Neil Martin (Drennan North West) won with 19-8-11. He had all skimmers and two F1s on chopped worm and caster from the end of the Weston section. Eric Gardner (Team Eclipse) used punch then caster to net 12-6-4 of skimmers from the bend below Hoo Mill Lock. Pete Thurlow (Tricast Calder) had a nice mix of small chub, hybrids and quality roach to red maggot. He weighed in 10-11-8 from a draw above Hoo Mill Lock. Steve Harrison (Tricast Calder) had 9-13-0 of all squatt roach from the new peg opposite the new marina at Haywood. Alan Faulkener (Lostock Tackle Box) netted 9-1-8 of top quality roach to punched bread; he was on the shallow gas pipe peg above Hoo Mill Lock. Fred Cheetham (Team Eclipse) netted 9-0-14 of punch and hemp hybrids and roach from Weston. Lloydy (Fox Match Tipton Van den Eynde) was seventh with a solitary 8 lb CHUB.
