The Angling Trust Division One National practise matches reached the halfway stage with a very decent match on the Shropshire Union Canal at Norbury. 159 fished this match with Phil Cox (Fox Tipton Van den Eynde) winning with loads of squatt fish, topped up with a couple of 2 lb chub, for 13-4-0 from peg 133.
Runner-up Neil Smith (Tricast Rochdale) was second with 10-14-0 of all squatt caught smal skimmers and roach, from 142. Dave Brown (Fox Tipton Van den Eynde fished a blinder to net 8-5-0 of squatt fish. Dean Williams (Team Eclipse was the best weight off G section with his fourth place 8-1-0 of squatt fish. Lionel Woodrot (Leicester Sensas) had 7-13-0 of squatt fish from Garreth Charnock (Ted Carter, Southport) 7-6-0.
Three competitors only recorded uner 2 lb of fish.
At the halfway stage 654 have fished the 6 matches.
Unfortunately one angler used excessive moaning and venue abuse in match 6 and Pete Madeley (Fox Matchmen Supplies) receives a red card.

Lionel Woodrot never even booked in.
He oversacked.
He rung up getting me to draw for him.
He wins £120 then lets me buy him a pint (I'm still waiting for mine!)
What is the punishment? Does he deserve a straight yellow?

Lionel Woodrot has actually booked in next Sunday at Weston/Hoo Mill.
That means he probably won't crappity smack turn up.

Swampy.
You want to get out more mate
I'll put the results up on Monday from this weekend.
Little Onn fished incredible;masses of roach and bream.
Dennis Sumner had 10 lb 3oz and never won a bean.
9 lb plus weights never even won their 5 lb sections.
7lb was last in some.
One section of five weighed in over 70 lb between them.
Where have all our chub gone?
