Beat me to it. Think it is too. The clue to being Bham Juniors rather than Starlets is Mr Holland (?) in the centre I think.

Crikey can recognise some faces but not names, 35-40 years ago I guess.
Here's a couple of guesses. Jeff Perrin top left ? Def Steve Ashmore top right.
A very young Barry Fulford to the left of Mac Hollands earhole ? Dave Webb bottom right ??
The more I think about it, Barry Fulford was older than this group and I think Dave Webb wasn't involved at that age but I could be wrong lol.

It's not PD bottom right. I know the face but can't recall the name - Bill something or other? The lad next to him is 'cosmo' I think.

Just read your weekend report Joff. Looked bob on. Wish i still fished sometimes. One or two names rang a bell. I was never good enough for the Leic's juniors, but knew some of them. Gaz Sadler, Richard Kinnersley, Steve H.
Mick Jelly lives not to far from me. Not seen him for awhile though. I know Perry, if it's the lad with no hair ?? Think so.
Gonna hane to get me kit out the Garage and give it a go.

Just out of interest TK have you any info on this match as I am pretty sure Steve Ash is 49 yrs old. If he was 15 when this photo was taken that put's at at roughly 1978. I fished this with Derby AA juniors but cannot remember if it was the Trent at Holme Pierrpont or Leeds Liverpool canal, the other national was on the Warks Avon. It could have been the Avon one ?

They came in a bit later and were part of an older, more senior group, the 'first team ' so to speak.Would Ted and Gary Farmer be in there somewhere?
Mark Downes, Barry Fulford, Pete Aske, Paul Downes at the time plus many others I can't recall.
I was there a few years on and off, waay down the pecking order if in it at all lol.
We didnt know what we were doing, unlike the more senior lads, but benefited hugely from their advice. Also from top anglers of the day that Ken Aske persuaded to come and talk to us kids on how to fish the club venues we'd booked. Ivan, Roy Marlow, Lloyd Davies, Ron Russell, Tony Scott are some I remember clearly.
I remember one occasion when Ken promised to take me and some mates to a match at Huxleys, a reward for cleaning the club van in the school holidays.
He made me ring Ken Giles from my house, to ask him how to fish it, egged on by my mates through the front door as I stood in the hall, with Ken waiting outside in the van
To a very shy young lad it seemed like ringing the current England Centre Forward, at home, unannounced , to ask him how to take a penalty
To be fair to Ken, when he got over the surprise of the call and realised we were genuine, he gave us his best advice, so far as practical.
Every other friday night, if I could find mates willing to go, i'd catch the 45 bus into Thorpe Street for the club meetings, sampling an under age pint of lager and lime at the same time, unless we got rumbled
Still have one of those Starlets badges somewhere, never sewed it on anything, probably didnt think I merited it.
Might not have gone as often as I think, the mind plays tricks over the years, but great memories, what this section's about.
I guess it was those people I met with the double yokers up their jumpers that really put the mockers on it
