yesterday we fished a knock up on the river soar at barrow i'd put the draw time back to 9.30am to give everyone time to get there ::) ::)quite a few dropped out fancied sledging rather than fishing and fair-play to them as this is what greeted me on the way
and this is at 9am after overtaking some willy that thought 10mph was safer than 30 mph
once passed it was the same conditions right up the venue
i wondered how many would turn up as freezing fog decided to make appearance as well
still a few turned up and it was decided we would fish 4 hours instead of the normal 5hours most loved the idea so the draw took place and we ventured to our pegs
game on I'd drawn between Aaron wells and tony marshall two of the best river anglers both knew the business punch and hemp
second part coming up i've got some work on

Come on Joff or are you trying to become another TK.
By the way I think you need a new camera. The background on those pics looks a bit blurry.

with fog coming down thick and fast i did begin to think this is madness and a early bath could be the best shout of the day
after looking at my peg the pallet was smashed to bits this could be even worse falling in as well
well all set up and ready to go bread would be my attack with the river low and clear plus i'd left my hemp in the van
my bread attack was quite easy feeding in three spots and taking fish off each ,it also allows me to feed lines while i'm still catching .three top five set up with 0.8 .6 .4 jf floats one spread one bulked with a single dropper and the third normal style with three droppers
the day went really well and i caught from the off and at one stage the bulk rig was top draw ,a variety of sized fish came from 3oz to 10oz roach and hybrids i did loose a what i think was a foul hooked bream off the bottom
talk about concentration it was neck and neck
i was keeping my eye on the hemp master above me
he was watching me for a change in some parts
i then focused on aaran ruling the mistake not taking hemp
we allcould see gary on 13 catching well his landing net going out plus end peg he could catch a lot shorter
all in all these were the pegs as others struggled
at the weigh in tony put a load of roach on the scales but not a big stamp he said he hadn't try the hemp all day but a big 6lb
Aaron was on the favoured peg 11 yes you were right lee but before Aaron weighed it was my turn a mixed bag and thought it might have gone more
11lb15oz Aaron was on the scales
than cocky Aaron ::) ::)i've only got 10lb
weighed a great net of fish in and in the last half of the match had a roach a chuke on hemp and must of put 5lb in his net in that time and a total of 13lb14oz
it was all down to gaz on end peg as he pulled his net out the story of pike and lost fish came out thats why he netted everything again another big 6lb beating tonys by 2oz
all said and done i was glad to of been a part of this match all the anglers are top class and a few beers after in front of a open fire just finished the day of madness off nicely

Me too Joffie - good report and those pictures capture the 'atmosphere' and conditions of the day nicely
