Winter can be such a challenging time of year but with fishing like this it's worth getting wrapped up.

I fancied a dabble for a few hours at a local pool armed with just half a pint of casters and following a bite a chuck for 2 hours amassed a healthy 18lb net.

Average roach was 6oz including several up to 14ozs. A dozen or so skimmers up to 8oz, 3 chub including one touching 2lbs and then final chuck a monster 2lbs plus perch. Fishing so light I did hook and lose 3 larger fish most likely specimen chub, but in 2 hours of non stop rain this was the resulting net

Cannot wait to go again in the new year with DNW's all over the country it makes u realise how special these few hours fishing were.
