Round 6 of the league today.
The lake was froze over so all things considered it fished really well
Rob Wootton won with a brilliant weight on the day of 13lb 14oz. Special mention and thanks from Rob for Joff for for supplying worm and joker at the last minute.
2nd was Pete Marlow with 9lb 12oz, then Dean Guest with 6lb 5oz.
Everyone weighed in which was brilliant in the conditions.
On a personal note I had one of those matches to forget, fished like a muppet( although that's probably unfair on a muppet cos I wasn't that good) Fed wrong, My joker ( what I had) was froze, broke far too big an area of ice, tried a perch line with lobby, but I didn't have any lobs( well 2 actually!!!!) As was pointed out by my esteemed gallery, (Mr Bickerton), my float bristle was showing too much, which I knew but just couldn't be arsed to sort it out!!all in all, I was lazy, fished bad and got what I deserved. oh well, next time
next round in 2 weeks on Donno lake. Hope it thaws out!!!!!!

Final round of the league last saturday.
the top 4 would be made up from 5 anglers, but to make 4th place I needed to beat Stu Naylor by 2 places which was going to be difficult to say the least.
As often happens in the later stages of leagues the attendances drop off and only 8 turned up.
1st on the day was Dean Guest off peg 9 with a weight of 23lb 9oz, Perch and skimmers at 6 metres on caster.
2nd on Peg 16 was Pete Marlow weighing 21lb, skimmers, roach and perch.
3rd was Rob Jones off peg 13 with 18lb 11oz, skimmers and a couple of big bream.
worst weight in the match was 8lb which is really good,in fact the whole series has fished really well.
The final standings
1st Pete Marlow Marykyu 9 points
2nd Dean Guest Trentman 13 points
3rd Craig Naylor Rycroft 15 points
4th Stu Naylor Rycroft 17 points
5th Andy Taft BaitTech 19 points
6th Rob Wooton Shimano 20 points
Great performance by Pete Marlow, 5 section wins and 2 2nd's.
As for me, i didn't make the 4th place, I wouldn't have deserved it as I've fished like a clampitt in the last few rounds, never really been at the races.
Special thanks to Bait Tech for providing prizes in the shape of groundbait and pellets.
Also to Brooksy for weighing us in.

I have booked the matches for next winter but I am looking for someone to take over the running of them.
I just can't be doing with all the hassle and it has definitely affected my own fishing.
I really don't know how Joff does it and he runs bigger matches than me.
I was spending more time on the fone etc etc than doing my own preparation and sitting at my peg more worried about the match than my own fishing and i was losing my enthusiasm for fishing.
I know that other match organisers will know probably better than me what I mean.
So, I am keeping the dates booked till the end of April to see if someone wants to take over, if not after that I will be cancelling the dates to be fair to Brooksy so he can re book them.
If anyone fancies it or knows someone who does let me know.

Not me now matey, I've done with organising.
I said to a mate yesterday, it feels like a weight off my mind.

i know the feeling taff the problem is if no one organises any matches there won't be any matches to fish that's the only reason i'm doing it
this coming season i think fishing will take a back seat as other priorities have to come first and it looks like we are all going to be out of pocket a little more after this next budget
