Fantastic day, a great cross section of match fishing talent battling it out to the very last second for what is after all an amazing prize.
I think having just the one weigh-in added to the excitement, at the whistle there were at least four anglers you could not hazard a guess as to who had won. The weigh-in was TENSE!
Having the runners up match on the other lake at the same time was also a brilliant idea, their match was also VERY keenly contested.
A massive thank you has to go to Phil Briscoe and all the staff at Maver who have worked behind the scenes for months and tirelessly throughout the day to bring us match anglers a new iconic event that will grow in stature every year.
