Lads I am going up to the North Yorks coast in a week or so and I am planning a bit of shore / beach fishing. Would I get away with using my largest carp rod for the day? Don't want to spend loads, as it's just a one day thing, and as there's no seas near Stafford the stuff wont get used until next year.
Any tips & bait I could use? Heard about peeler crab, rag worm and various fish fillets. Cheers!

Sea Fishing Tips?
Sea Fishing Tips?
depends on how heavy ur carp rod is? a spod rod will do,plus a biggish reel,if u wanna go say 50-90yrds,bait may be a problem you will av to tie peeler crabb on..but ragworm should be fine..squid is worth a try but u will also av to tie that on for long chucking..use bait elastic its quite cheap,,you mite av problems with tides..in which case you have to use gripper type leads..not easy to cast out far..best you look up on the net as to where u are actually going.
