Joff
Nothing to heavy elastic wise i use either a solid 20 or Orange Vespe Hollow.
All my pole tops were cut back the same length to match my cupping kit 10 years ago which is how old my tops are (i'm tight) i've always used the largest external bush i could get even when i used to use silly single figure elastics as i like it to flow.
I use red hydro and my topkits are cut back to 3.8mm which allows for a Maver number 5 internal bush to go in.
The bigger fish 13lb plus come in quite easy Joff, its the 5-10lb'ers which are like rocket propelled submarines. Even when you get their heads up they somehow manage to get back down even with red hydro.
I'm thinking about it mate
at the minute I'm lucky to say the business is doing really well and I'm finding a lot harder to commit to the sport at the minute
i fished a 32 peg club match on the glebe last Sunday it was lovely to get the invite and i must say they were all quality anglers but the difference was the banter, no moan because every peg was in if you had a way ward cast you got ribbed straight away a really nice day plus plenty of fish i didn't draw well peg 5 isn't the best but managed 65lb mostly smaller carp and bream there were about 4 weights over 80lb and a couple of seventies what i did miss was a drink with the lads after as most had to get back to there secure units
Get in there Joff.
We do like to have giggle.
For what it's worth I use a solid Vespe 22 and my kits are cut back to take the large Drennan bullnose bushes.

Special Mention to Phil who is 82 years old and caught 13lb PB carp and then next cast nearly doubled it with a 25lb common carp today. Well done mate.
