Take your point there Dodge and feel the same as you.
We are so lucky round here, top quality fishing and good turnouts. Like anywhere Saturday turnouts drop at this time of the year though.
Must admit two years back I made a decision to kick b & j matches into touch; basically it was an 'eyesight' thing which will come to most in time.
I started fishing Crewe Leagues and Wirrall Leagues and to be perfectly honest thery have been brilliant. OK, tough some days but good sport intermingled. I also really enjoy the banter with the guys up there; it is brilliant, a great laugh, sometimes we all forget what we go for.
I did honestly find some of the b&j matches, included some I did, ( I fished them for 50 years) got far too serious, perhaps it was a 'money thing'.

bang on dodge the biggest problem in match fishing no crappity smack wants to do anything and then moan at the ones that do we have covered this before but its still as bad >:(behind the scenes it take all week on the phone anglers coming then not coming
the morning of the match first thing check the match length for boats get the scales and boards ready then the draw THATS ear muff time perhaps have a cup of tea before you go to your peg then answer your phone to rants and rages
the easiest part is phoning the results in mate get them to do that you never know you might need the county cup points

county cup points
County cup points actually encourage the 10 peg , 20 peg noddy muddy hole culture that is ruining our sport we love .... maybe the angling press will run out of stupid brain dead methods that catch easy mud pigs and F1 vermin before it all goes t!ts up proper ::)
