RESULTS ROUND 2 RIVER
again and i keep saying it the soar valley winter league must be the best in the country the river from mountsorrel to kegworth fished funny but well with weights coming from all over and at the minute tony marshalls QUORN are making the most of it they are good enough to win on the average pegs BUT there draw yesterday was unbelievable with eight of the team picking up money this will take some beating as the draw is now the most important part of the winter league QUORN had 2,3,3,3,1,2,1,1,6 and a 3 the impressive still top marks we have just got to try harder
on the individual side and this is what makes the river soar such a top venue dale lynch of trentmen draw the same peg on the brinks that had won the last round of the summer league with hemp roach after about two hours dale had caught 8lb of roach probably enough to win the section at that point but he decided to rest the line and try his caster line well the next 5 casts produced bream and by the end of the match he'd got 15 or 16 for 41lb13oz well done dale 2nd well i can't get my breath TONY MARSHELL after winning the match the day before on the trent where he fouled hooked a barbel of 9lb8oz in the tail on bayer pound and a half hook length and getting out after 40 minutes nothing was going to surprise me when he draw the best chub peg on the little meadow mindyou he didn't have it all his own way as he lost 6 or 7 big fish and thats very unlike tony but still had enough for second 20lb 3rd was steve posiak maver with another chub weight of 19lb 11oz from the brinks 4th was the best roach weight of the day JOHN SHELLARD 19lb 4oz from normanton
5th Colin Stevens [i've only got 5lb man] long Eaton with 17lb 6oz ALL perch catch 6th DAVE PETCH quorn 15lb 7oz of hemp roach from one of the best chub pegs whats happening
TEAMS ON THE DAY
1ST QUORN AS 25 PTS
2ND LOUGHBOROUGH MAVER 37 just goes to show this league can turn around on a six pence
3RD LEICESTER SENSAS 39 i real get out of jail result for us
4th TRENTMEN 42
5TH LONG EATON 43
6TH BENNETTS44
7TH WIGSTON AS 45
just look at how close the point went

Great results by the look of it Joff. Very close apart from Quorn AS who seem to have made the most from what you say was a good draw.

Also well done on your own performance yesterday, I have no complaints in fact I got out of jail really, if the pegs above Kimber had fished !
However it was nice to see plenty of fish topping in your peg when I came down for a look !

RESULTS ROUND 2 RIVER
choppy if you had seen the pegs at the start not a roach or any fish were topping yet below me i saw 6 or 7 cormorants and about 20 seagulls so i think they had heard the fish earlier in the morning from the boatyard and what fish were left started to come back from 1pm it was a fish a Chuck and i think i would of beaten dave kimber if we had fished till 4pm
if you noticed you and me were the only two anglers to catch roach and i think the roach were heading back to the boatyard still its nice to catch 10lb9oz of red eyes on the quill
bye the way did you say you'd got 7lb and weighted9lb 10oz

RESULTS ROUND 2 RIVER
yes a complete random draw the problem is with 7 peg sections there are loads of end pegsJoff is your league random draw m8
don't get me wrong Quorn made the most of the draw but
section 1 1860 only one peg above the bridge normally we have two or three[ best roach peg 2 below the bridge]
section 2 quorn drew the best chub peg
section 3 bonsai tree [roach peg]
section 4 best chub peg in the section
section 5 end but one on the greens fly-er this year
section 6 deeps end peg not a good section but you'd want a end peg
section 7 osier beds 2nd gully best peg down there
section 8 little meadow the best chub on the river by a country mile
section 9 normanton anywhere in this section is good
section 10 end peg upstream kegworth [to be fare choppy was on this and i'd of said it was there worest peg ]
i'm just wondering if i've seen any quorn anglers on bad pegs this series so far

Oh and I said I had 8lb and weighed in 9lb 14oz actually, which is good for me !!!!
I do think you are exagerating our draw, some good pegs and some average.
Big question is would have Leicester recorded 25 points off this draw ?
