Joff,
The Moira Furnace have raked the boat channel this week, in preparation for the santa cruises in December if your interested! This has left a bit floating in pegs 65 - 69. Should clear this tomorrow.
The whole canal is generally weedy due to lack of boats. We have done a lot of work to make it fishable although some pegs are better than others.
You can rake if you want as long as its sensible. I wont be bothering as fish have been caught in even the most limited of pegs in the recent knock ups we have had.
You are correct to say its not your usual canal, it is:
landlocked both ends,
no boats,
no real towpath
fishing on opposite side to want you might think you should be,
natural and sloping bank, and
weedy
Should be a good match, weights have been up to 20lbs, and averaging 8lb, in recent non B/J matches. You just need to get your head round it beacuse it is not a 'usual' canal.

Me and a couple of buddys fish the canal at Moira on a regular basis with varying degrees of success. How did it fish for the match today?
Is it possible to have a match summary?
We are happy to share the lessons we have learnt on this water if it is any use?
