without letting on to anybody,myself and friend wayne went to curborough on thursday

due to having no work.

i went with all the intention to fish the match pool,but when we arrived we were told the open match was on it

and the draw had already taken place.

so we pleasure fished the canal pool instead,with doing this i could watch the weighin on the open and that's what i did


so having spoken to the winner on peg 30 who told me a bold approach would work on our match,i was set


arriving at the draw to be met by capitano kod who adknowledged me in the customary fashion















but fair play to capitano chris ,he did take my nets out of my car and dip them for me.

well that's what he said had happened to my nets  (i still haven't found them)

while waiting for everyone to arrive,mr v pulls up and swaps paint with me.

fortunately for him,he was in his car,unfortunately for me i wasn't in mine.

no it's alright i've always wanted 1 legged tracky bottom's and a trainer with car print across it.

i'm sure it will be copied shortly in all top fashion houses ::)

with everybody assembled t.k. announces the draw for the next match on the canal,and could everyone be early,

because he's on the gate at fishley.and for some unknown reason he's become a member of the seventh day adventist's

which comes has a great shock because i thought he didn't work at all?????

suddenly the draw starts in near pandemonium.

well i say pandemonium,what i mean is anybody who can be bothered to draw ,drew!!!

f kendal offer's me the bag to draw knowing there's no bottom in it.unlike this










some people will do anything for a cheap thrill (that's both of us then )


peg 31 appears in my hand ,i'm quite happy with that.

at my peg,the wind's quite strong and gusty.the rain comes in fits and starts,it's not going to be a pleasant day at all

i decide three lines are going to do it and plumb at 11 mtrs,4mtrs and one down the edge

the 11mtr line is going to be attacked,along with the edge.the 4mtr line is going to be dripped with pellets'

now after 2 1/2 hrs you know there maybe is a flaw in your plan,and this was a big flaw.

nothing had been listening to my plan.

so taking a section of pole off and dripping a few pellets,eventually i managed to winkle some goldfish out.

unfortunately by now,wedgey on my left and martin on my right where miles in front of me.

this was just a way of trying to save a bit of face.

in the last 1 1/2 hrs,i managed to catch a few and by the end it was one a drop.

i haven't made this many mistake's since the last time i tried to learn the peruvian nose pipes in the middle of the last

flu pandemic.

you can learn two things by this. 1 open matches fished with 16 fishing and obviously more room you can use a lot more
bait
2 when there's 25 on the same pool it fishes a whole heap differently.

onto the results.i think big baz won with 28lb which show's if you let everybody walk all the fish into areas where there
isn't anybody,then sneak up lateryou can win.

i think abuman was second with t.k.third...he hasn't paid me for a pint of casters either !!!!!!!!!

apologise for the piccies but by the time i'd packed up and the speed of the weighin it's difficult to get catch shots

very good mate just had a cup of tea and a good look
looks a nice venue its just this weather we are getting surely its going to warm up
we have a few trout anglers around the village and its the same story there the wind should be a southernly wind by now and they are catching crappity smack all

Good write ups chaps.

Apart from the gale force wind and the rain, this was a good match! I was doing well out in front at 7m but really struggled with freezing cold hands! Hopefully the next match will be a bit kinder with the weather. Will be nice to be back on a cut to catch some 'proper' fish
