was hoping the sensas final was going to be on there
no mate its on packington and packington only as long as no one takes the mick it will fish good
danny if i went up there mate it would cost me £70 for the day and i would draw pants in fact peg 219 guaranteed i'm not tight but this time of year thats a bit much and i hate ice
i'm having a week at packington soon
lloydy my thoughts were the same as you to be honest as I think that is the sort of venue should hold that sort of match not packington but that is my own personal opinion, just remember bring your edge rigs to packington as last year people caught on them . Also a picnic as some pegs you could share a sandwich with your neighbour without getting off your boxes. Me and si nickless were sat 4 feet apart and that is no exaggeration.
Joff it would only cost you as much as a day at Barston wouldnt it
we won it on the stainy but if i remember it fished very hard even on west street with very few coming back after and at the end of the day packington is a venue with no favourites as most of us don't fish it its central in the country for most as for the margin danny the lad that won it fished for us he said he had loads of room to fish the margins to the next peg whether thats allowed in cips matches i don't know i've never seen a world championship where they fish the margins
still i'l look forward to it anyway
i thought it had got a 110 peg winter league on it every sunday the Quorn lads couldn't get on it i was told thats the trouble with commercial venues in semi finals theres only one winner and its not the angler
i know what you mean but packkington last year was really good where as barston was pants i think as well only being two weeks after the semi might not help the stainy
like danny said its being fished every day at the minute i know there are stacks of fish up there but they can go as quick as they came i love the place evan i've lost the will to go up there at this time of year
instead i'm fishing a winter league with no B/J allowed there is £35 every 6 pegs and no long walks a king size breakfast for £4 and a nice pint after :-/god i'm getting old

2 have been cancelled as he wont let you break ice

Packingtons a nice venue with good fishing, drew on there both days last year and enjoyed it
You are old Joff but fishing is about enjoyment and if you are enjoying the matches you are fishing the you are on the right match
Heronbrook has hardly been fished as its been frozen most of the time. The owner ( and he has every right) will not allow people to use an ice bracker........
In my humble opinion i don't think its been a good choice of semi venue: with the venue being closed so often allready, the remaining matches are not garanteed to be on if the weather again gets cold. what happens if its frozen on the day of the semi ????????
Booked in for Sat, hope we don't get anymore hard frosts !!!!!!!
Anybody fished it lately ?
I know a couple of lads who have fished it recently CWH
Its been frozen for ages and refroze again this w/end., very little caught form most lakes ..... think its essential to draw on Meadow Pool , the carp will shoaled tightly on a few pegs proper solid .. no need to feed anything if you draw on them, fish red maggot or bread on the hook both on the deck and mid depth cant go wrong the mirrors go to 8lb plus on Meadow
The match a week last Saturday was on all the lakes except the Match Pool. The first three came off the original canal opposite the stick ups, around peg 13.
Something like 104 lb won, 80 odd was second and 70 odd was third. The 70 odd was all F1s to pellet. The winner had half F1s and half lumpy carp, I think he used punch and pellet; the second was much the same. 60 lb was the best off Meadow, there was also a big weight off Bridge Pool of all sorts.
Dodge is dead right, they are feeding crappity smack all; lots of fish to maggot as well.
Hope this helps anyone.
The Meadow hasn't dominated the last two matches but that could easily go back again.
The match I'm on about was aweek last Sunday not Saturday; my crappity smack up. His results and peg numbers are probably still on his website if you haver a gander.
Thanks for the response all.
What about lines (over , down shelf, channel etc ).
Can you get enough bites on 0.12 or do you have to go down to 0.10 ? Cheers
Choppie, 0.12 should be perfect for Meadow, your looking to catch across on the far shelf @ 13mts ish where its 3ft and in the track where its around 6ft ..... aswell as the mirrors there are lots of F1s.
The old canal is similar but F1 rigs (0.10) on there as there are loads of them.
If the Match Lake or Island is in then take a tip rod
