Grueller match 3 - On or Off?

Ok guys over to you……..

Looking at the Metcheck weather site for my postcode (a couple of miles away from the cut, which could be even colder as its more in the sticks) here are the forecasted temperatures at 9am over the next week

Given that the ice was 3-4 inches thick on Saturday, looks like it might be even thicker come a week on Saturday, even if a thaw sets in.

Is it worth the bother?

Shall we knock grueller 3 on the head? Need to decide before people start placing bait orders………

A lot can change in two weeks TK. I wouldn't trust the weather forecasters

Tk all i ask is if you do fish it can you bear me in mind when you write your report, as by the time of this match i will be out of intensive care and either on a normal ward or if im lucky enough at home so may have the chance of getting to the internet, but my complete side will still be in staples/ stitches and i don't want them bursting open through laughing at your write up

If it had been 'on' today I wouldnt have been there - went to get summat out of the garage and couldn't get in it - all the locks were all froze solid.

Whilst all my gear is in the house, my old clobber and nets etc are in the garage.........

Not that I seem need a net these days

But my Skeetex are pretty essential on days like this

Whilst I’m a member there, my club matches have to be ‘authorised’ by the committee. Usually I’d submit my dates, with names of potential anglers turning out a few months in advance of the matches. The details of anglers in turn are forwarded onto the security providers at the station…….

Several power stations around the country have been on red alert for a number of months due to Climate change protestors besieging the stations

looking to bring them to a standstill………….you may have seen these in the news over the last few months. Mind I bet they are all too busy sitting in front of their gas/electric fires at the moment, instead of out in the field......... ::)

So consciously with the added heightened security in force, with no guarantee that I’d be able to get everyone through security on a particular day if there was a security issue on the morning I decided to give them a ‘miss’ this year

Plus there’s also the added issue that if I ever failed to turn up for whatever reason on a particular morning, the match would be off cuss no one would be able to get through security………

Why don’t you have a word with Woodhouse and see if his water is available.
All the pegs will have been broke after this weeks teams of 3.The ice shouldn't be that hard to break through the following week… we might even catch a few up there, then again!!!

i think we all want to get back on the banks but the conditions just aint allowing that at the mo unfortunately :(

Personally and reluctantly, I cant see myself ordering any bait. Sitting in the cold isnt a problem, but 12 inches of ice probably is

OK guys - time marches on and with the 'vote' standing at 4 a piece, with 'proxy' no votes from another 5 of the guys who fish who aint on line I'm gunna pull the plug on match 3 before anyone orders any bait

Hopefully see you all in a few weeks time for what would have been match '4'

Dunno Simps - but I doubt it big time - ok so looks like an end to the overnight -10c's - but still gunna be -1 or -2 according to the 5 day forecast - that ice will take some thawing.

If it does clear perhaps the guys will have a 'knock up'

I won't be there though..........
