Conditions were diabolical for this opener with the cut frozen solid and overnight snow making travelling trecherous for most , but it was great to be fishing a b/joker winter league in the NW again ! The pegging was close to say the least but a big thanks to the organisers for getting this league up and running Image Image

If any of the lads who use this site and fished please feel free to contribute with results / info etc as these are off the top of my head .....

The 1st round was fished at Garstang .....Timmy Moores won with a cracking all roach net 8.15.0 from peg 1, Timmy was making his debut for Sensas NW, well done mate Image

2nd was the match organiser(Lostock Tackle Box) with 5.7.0 again all roach from the next peg i think.

Teams , 1st Saints A 14 pts, 2nd Sensas NW Green 15 pts, 3rd Ted Carter Preston 16 pts

I drew in the middle of the crap bit and weighed 0.3.12 Image Image Image Image Image :D

My weekend.
Fished Staffs Ind League on Saturday at Gnosall (Shroppie). Drew on end peg on the 'taps'. The peg has unbelivable form, 6 lb is a low wait from it. I had six farty roach for last but one in the section. I always wanted to have a go at peg but caught next to crappity smack all.
Sunday went to Autherley on the Shroppie, 20 pegs again. I drew one peg from where I blanked two weeks previous and felt like shyte but said crappity smack all. Won the section with 2-14-0 of punch roach, - is there any form in fishing? No ice both days.

Evening Rog....

I was the unfortunate angler a) to be peg 3 getting neck ache for the first 3 hrs and b) to have a local resident swing on the end of my pole when he took umbrage at it overhanging his garden!!

:-/

still,

TCP and Sensas  both on fifteen points SNWG took it on weight...

Fished sh!te but how bloody good was it to have a match on the Lanky once again!!

We heard what happened Irk, didnt know it was you tho! think one or two on the match would of took matters into their own hands if it were them and things would have got a lot worse very quickly ..... hope everything is sorted ;)

Got to say the venue for the draw (Owd Nells) is prob the best i have been too, superb brekkie, leather sofas, log fires, good beer Image Image

Hopefully the weather forecasters have got it wrong for next week and conditions allow for a good match ..... them roach are a good stamp Image Image ;)

The pegging was close to say the least

Close, I think you need to define just how close it was Rog.

Me and Ste Knowles were close enough to hit each other with top 3 kits..........

It'll be a bread match anyway...........

The venue for the 3rd round a week on sunday has been a topic of conversation since the organiser said he going to peg "Valentines"   Image Image  hardly anyone fancies that prospect.

What do the Ted Carter Preston lads think  (Colin B / Irk ) ??    Most lads would prefer the match to take place either side of Moss Lane bridge Garstang .... that would mean the black pipe area all the way through to Keppel lane , we know there are plenty of roach there plus with the pegging now 20 yards plus and the other side of moss lane bridge not been fished yet it should be a cracking match with everyone on fish   ;)

If there is a venue expert Dodge it's steve Wilson..... The look on his face when Mick said it was to be at Valentines was a real picture   Image  Image

It's crappity smacking daft to go to Preston, the stamp of fish is much smaller (B & J may work though) and pegging it fairly is difficult (the banking doesn't get pegged at all these days)....

Steve will no doubt peg it so we won't be fencing our neighbours with top 3's and he'll go one way to the North to try and get the better pegs in...

Garstang would be a much better bet

Ho hum!!
