WENT to canal by anchor pub in brownhills for a 5 hour session on bank holiday monday. weather was poor, raining, very windy so after catching only a few small roach in first hour on light rig i went onto a heavier rig and laid on in the track, after feeding a small balls of g/b i immediately caught a nice perch and a quality rudd about a pound. Then it went dead for half hour due to a boat hurling thru the swim. I then re fed and caught a bream about 2lb on double pinkie, followed by another and another and another. ended up with 13 bream between 1lb and 3lb, 2 roach and rudd up to a 1lb and a few bits, and several landing net perch. Packed up at 6pm having been snagged up by a resident tench. thoroughly enjoyed the few hours, as it was not easy but the fish were all in perfect condition.

Hi Yamo - any sign of Hoddy on your travels up there - sure he made reference to that section of cut once   :D

Sounds like a good day - might not have been 'easy' but you must have had 20lb plus in the net at the end - well done - better than them commercials!  See I told you there was fish in the Curley Wyrley..........

Mind, I thought you'd had enough of the cuts after the first few curse matches - how come you ended up there and didn't fish a pool? Did Zorro put in an appearance too and sack up?

Changing the subject how did you fair on Sat - presume you fished Abbotts Bromley  Image

i know there is plenty of fish in this canal but you have to fish it at right time of year when weather warms up. this stretch was lovely and deep and almost weed free so it was easy to lay the bait on the deck. yes i reckon 20lb plus, zorro was watching for a while and whilst i was watering the plants caught a bream on my black magic pole. Will be going up pelsall cut on the next bank holiday maybe we could have a knock up?

tk i like that canal as it is natural, and you just dont quite know what you will catch next, and it is 30sec walk from my missus ' house and our local pub.

on saturday we fished abbotts bromley, i came 2nd off peg 4 with about 16lb, peg1 won it with 26lb odd. enjoyed it though, massive went up there on bank holiday and did about 80lb, the pleasure nets there are great.
