Now thats a fish.
Bit of trivia.
What former first class cricketer owns the fishery, Press Manor, what that big perch was caught?
Come on cricket fans, there is a little clue in the venue

Yeah, Bernie Maher.
He played many years for Derbyshire.
He also represented England in another capacity,
What was it (nothing to do with cricket)?

Sorry to hijack your quiz Bill, whilst it certainly looks an impressive fish, I really think the camera is proving deceptive in this case Simps
You'll possibly recollect that one I had on a Cashmores match at Townsends - it was weighed seperately at 4lb 9oz.
From MGB's picture of me holding it it daint look much to shout about - unlike that picture
It was only when it 'flapped' and I was in danger of dropping it that I lay it on my open carryall. MGB took another picture of it lying there and it was only then the true dimensions really became evident - from head to tail it was longer than my folded daiwa/boss pole roller

To test that theory, next time I catch a fish that needs to be weighed and Gem is around we can experiment with different camera angles. not for too long of course

Aye up TK,
As you probably know I have had hundreds if not thousands of pics in the AM over the years.
I know without any shadow of doubt that if you say you had a 4 lb 9 oz perch it is coche with me.
I also know Bernie Maher who owns Press Manor Fishery and like yourself what he says is coche.
I know the pic was somewhat distorted (incidentally something I have never done taking pics, unless it was Rocco's wallet!) but if Bernie had anything to do with the pic it is 4 lb 6 oz as he says. He is an OK guy and distorted or not IF he has had anything to do with this, and I have a good reason to believe he has, the perch is 4 lb 6 oz and that is it.

is that bloke a dwarf,?looks bigger.seen a few 3.5lb ers ,good lookin fish when they are that big.

Hiya Bill - I wasnt questioning the weight of the fish, got no reason whatsoever to question it, the fish just looked massive compared to the capter in the picture
Incidentally I sent the pictures of my fish off to a rival publication, filled in the details in the form for 'specimen of the week' or whatever it was called and waited...........
Nowt...........?
A few weeks later and envelope drops on the mat........I recognise the franking on the envelope............pictures returned with a compliment slip (only) - no note or owt, not even a 'thanks, but no thanks' scribbled on the compliment slip
Despite witnesses (it was caught in a match), perhaps the pictures didnt do the fish justice as they were never published?
