So bomber didn't fish on the Severn according to that team sheet. So the main thread of this subject was wrong, does that mean Joffy got his history a bit mixed up Image

From memory I think Phil Coles won the National on the Bristol Avon. Image

He may have been the youngest to win it but certainly not the youngest to fish in it Image

It was easy to get confused as Leicester had two teams in that National on the Severn.
Leicester and District Amalgamated ociety of Anglers was the other one.

Team:
Stan Piecha (capt)
R. Osborne
R. Moss
G. Bott
K. Smith
Phil Coles
P. Oldershaw
W Darlison
C. Lenton
D. Cox
Robin Grouse
M. Stevens

Reserves: P. Danson, T. Ward and G. Smith.

cheers bill some proper blokes on both team sheets i am so glad to have been around some of these lads it so different for young anglers to follow angling methods now who fishes stick floats, wagglers on a regular bases on rivers, and squatts and pole on canals feeder fish on powerful rivers Image Imagemost of theses lads did them all week in week out
now-er days you have to stick to one venue to compete on commercials yes youngsters can do this and are very good at it but would they want to ever fish natural venues
