i was on the glebe yesterday,armed with my mars bars knowing full well I'd be passing them over.the last three years I've been on lake seven

and this year was no different

but it is good mars bar territory

i was drawn on the same peg I'd drawn before

nowhere near the end pegs and when i got to my peg i found i had the winner of the day before on one side and a local on the other

started on the feeder and had a run of small pasties plus one about 3lb the mars bars were in the balance at this stage until about 20 Canadian geese decided to launch themselves into my peg

still not all was lost both sides hadn't really caught at this point and the geese were not going to move for any of us

plan B pole and fish shallow as both sides started to fish the margins and i had the 13metre line to myself

after a run of skimmers shallow

the margin pegs had come alive

i thought that was that and by this time the mars bars were running everywhere

the carp didn't really want on the whole lake for one reason or other but i finally did get one or two and by the end of the match i had 50lb not a big weight but enough to retain my mars bars

the lake was won from the other end with 103lb 86lb next to him and 77lb next to him so not only did i draw bad i drew the wrong end of the lake yet again

i don't think this carping is for me

other lakes fished there brains out lake one rob wootton had 339lb fishing caster shallow i think 90lb was last in his ten peg section uglies had a 200lb on it and lake six behind me had a 179lb in fact yet again I've been in the worse section of the match

still i didn't loose my mars bars
