It is with deep regret that well respected angling journalist and angling photographer Ken Cope passed away in hospital on Wednesday morning, April 8th.

Ken worked on many publications over a long career and there can hardly be an angler in the whole of the Midlands that has not read one of Ken's articles, seen his match reports or his photographs.

Ken's son, Steve, will carry on with the family tradition with match results and match reports for the Express and Star, a job that Ken did so well for well over fifty years.

With tears in my eyes, I have the greatest respect for this man. I got to know Ken during my days at Pelsall. The only reporter who I got to know from his time on the bank. He had time for everyone even if they did not win the match.

I wish his familly well and hope that Steve does a similar job!

My condolences. Bros.

We were sorry to hear the sad news about Mr Cope even though i had never met him, but he seemed like he was a real gentleman when i spoke to him on a sunday evening to send in our results.
Our condolances to his family.
