Ropa,
Good 'un that, the point at Ely.
I drew that once in the worst conditions you could ever believe.
In a facing wind the waves were flying over my head. My mate was next to me; he won the section out of sight on the waggler; flat calm where he was!
Kevin Ashurst came down to me that day; he told me to pack up while I still had a bit of kit left, so I did.
Just call me lucky.
Also drew Trury 30 with £3000 on offer. You need a blow on there to bring the bream into the bay. I fished the swing tip!

Bill I just love drawing at Ely, it`s got to be the best setting for a match anywhere, sitting in a pine forest with that view Had 48 and 32 kilo 2 pegs to the right of the point (where the big rock is) into the bay fishing the pole at 11m , the bream were in the bay both days . Had a 26 kilo off peg 16 along past the point.

Thoroughly agree mate; best scenery in the world for a fishery.
Once caught bream off the actual car park! You could see them cleaning off in the bay; used a very small waggler and maggot; great fun.
Had my best day there from the seat peg, somewhere around 23.
Practised it one day and sacked up, believe it or not I drew it next day and sacked again (by my standards anyway!)
Never, ever, ever, ever, ever seen any dog sh!t there; seen fox sh!t though!

Fav match venue.
Lough Muckno, - must be the best roach fishing in Europe. Great little town to stay too, Castleblayney.
Next years Monaghan Pairs (100) was fully sold out by the start of Ocober 2008. I think that says it all, - ELEVEN MONTHTHS before the event.

Mine used to be the Bridgy but cormorants have put paid to that !!!!
Im with lloydy ...... the River Weaver
A close second would be the Macclesfield Canal for the simple reason as a venue it has been very kind to me
My favourite commercial although i havent been down there for 4 years would be White Acres (and Newquay ) by a country mile

If i could only fish one venue for the rest of my life it would without doubt be the River Severn.
It's got everything....Bream in the lower reaches...Barbel all along...roach fishing in winter is brilliant..
