Fished here today with over 20 other anglers Conna  :P :P For Goodyears club.

Image

Won my section (our side of the place) with 24lb 15oz. I beat Gus by 1oz   :D Ahh well its happened to me enough times.  :o
My catch was mainly roach and Rudd with a few carp off the feeder from the massive island you see in that picture  :-/
I fished paste, corn, meat, pellet and caster, I fished this many things to try and catch a carp but the bloody rudd and roach ate everything.
It was a windy and cold day but enjoyed it.
64lb won it from my side of the place 6 pegs up from me in the corner where the wind was blowing.
Andy spruce was second with a cracking bag of silvers for 53lb. I have never struggling lifting someone silver net out before  :o
All his fish filled the normal weigh slings most clubs use, was incredible. Wish I got a picture now.

And someone, can't say who, caught from what I was told a 5lb(estimate) eel but was unable to land it. I was watching him and pi*sing myself, he was on tiptoe top two in the air chasing it round the pool with his landing net. But in the end he lost it  :-[ shame I would have love to have seen that Tinky, oops said your name  :P :P :D

Hi Si - nice 'report'. Is it a 'private' venue or available for club bookings? If available how many anglers can it accomodate and could you get me contact/price details?

Thanks TK,
Its a private venue but is available to clubs for matches.
2 clubs have been thrown off there I was told today, for not sticking to the rules. So there should be plenty of room for next year.
Will get the details for you mate and PM or post them in here when I find out.
25 anglers, nice spacing between the pegs. Its bloody deep and you have to fish in the water as there are no permanent pegs.
But tbh, I love fishing like I have today, setting up in the water.

Cheers Si. I'm always on the lookout for venues with a decent silverfish head in so you've an alternative to carp

I did the weighing in, the rules are one net for silver and carp upto 2 lb and the other for carp 2 and over.
Everyone caught alot of silvers.
All the fish were perfect too.
