Colemans Cottage Wood Lake 14th July 2018

Here you go folks; nice and early for a change.
Just 10 fished today on what was a balmy Summers day.
Well I think the general view was that it fished better than expected.
With the current drought, high temperatures and low water levels, they can often get a bit picky and that was what we were expecting today.
But while sport wasn't spectacular it was steady for the most part and the weights were nicely bunched.
Results:
1. Troy peg 12, 130-00lb section win pegs 9-15
2. Tony R peg 8, 114-08lb section win pegs 2-8
3. Dave C peg 10, 109-00lb
4. Mick peg 9, 98-00lb
5. Kris (guest) peg 6, 84-00lb
6. Simon peg 2, 82-00lb
7. John H peg 3, 79-00lb
8. Gino peg 14, 64-00lb
9. Terry peg 15, 58-08lb
10. Tony W peg 5, 46-00lb

Well done Tony :tiphat...it was a good day all told given the low water levels and heat although personally my new worm obsession probably cost me a few fish it was still nice to eek a few from the margins! Well done to Troy on the win and Tony on the section and a special mention to the Chairman, great to see you back amongst the fish Mr C, doing what you do best :thumsup

Right now to go tie 3000 rigs to justify buying one of those gizmo things, it's spade ends for me from now on....oh hang on....I've only got eyed hooks!!...now can I remember my e-bay log in ;) ;)

Don't forget the hook storage boxes, no good tying them up and having nowhere to store them. :rofl

Si yes just use the eyed hooks as spade ends. Me and Kieth have been doing
that since we got it and like you said they tie fine

I put the line through the eye from the inside of the hook and then whip them like a spade. I used to use spades but found when fishing for chub and barbel on stronger lines that the spade cut through/weakened the line.
