bank holiday invite competition
Due to the fantastic days fishing we had the weekend Obis mate has managed to book us the lake for the 25th May which is a bank holiday. Lakeside which it is known as has a big head ov carp averaging between 4 to 8lb but there are some huge lumps in excess of 30lb with some big barble n loads of stamp roach between 8oz to 1lb.
This isn't a fishery but part of an estate which is beautifully situated near the village of Towester
JOHN Obis mate has booked the pool and invited us to a challenge against him n his mates,11 I believe so I'm putting it out there to see who would be interested in fishing against them. We can take more if there is plenty of interest but we would probably have to sacrifice obj to the dark side ::)
The match fee is £12/ man and we are looking at running it as draw 9am fish 10am till 4pm. We are trying to get the lake for cashmores in the future so it would be an opportunity for a practice for a future match. .
There are no particular bans other than no floating bread n barbless hooks. 2 keepnets would be required as i would expect weights over 100lb.
If you are interested I would be grateful if you would book in n pay your money up front due to people having let me down in the past. If you put your name down n pay any monies on the next match I would be grateful thank you!
Up for it;
Obi
Tez

Obviousley put my name down please.
Just a bit more info
Very few rules but strictly adhered to
No braid
No floating Baits
Barbless hooks
That's it :surprise
Like Col said it is not a commercial fishery but a members only lake and as you can see from the pictures on the other thread is completely natural. I Managed an invite to a match last year and they had a weigh in at the half way point (if you needed to) and the leader after 3hrs put nearly 140lb on the scales, I fished it totally wrong and pulled far to many roach into my peg but still managed to weigh in just under 60lb and came last :surprise ,
6 hr Match lake record is 400lb
you wont find it on any websites as the owner and fishery members keep it under their hat

This confirms my thoughts on cancelling the SMF forum championships due to lack of numbers. I can't see many wanting to fish the SMF match as well as this one the day after, especially a Bank Holiday weekend, so I will cancel the Championship and look to run it later in the year :( :(

I'm sorry Paul ,didn't even realise it was the day after your match . If you can run it after spawning time ish I think it would make a better match even though that erea is fishing really well at the moment . I'm sure you would have a lot more interest ,I know I would def fish.perhaps some of the elete would be free from commitments aswell.
Would even give you a hand run the event aswell .
Hope to see you n tricast on o r event

Count me out....washing my hair
Besides, my van never leaves the drive on a Bank Holiday. Good luck with the match boys, and even better luck tackling the holiday Monday traffic

Whatever floats ya boat.......forecast is wazzing it down with rain.......Craps will be spawning......sure you will enjoy it.
We have all heard these forecasts of 100lb+ bags of fish for everyone, then 10 people turn up on a match and the fish do a Houdini.
The place looks lovely. Look forward to seeing some piccies, and seriously, I hope you all have a good day
